The National Highways Authority of India is building a 200 kilometer expressway between Ayodhya and Varanasi. The road will reduce travel time from five hours to two hours. Construction has started and the project aims to provide a fast and safe route for travelers.
The expressway will connect with the Purvanchal Expressway. Travelers from Delhi and western Uttar Pradesh will reach Ayodhya and Varanasi faster. Pilgrims visiting Ram Mandir in Ayodhya or Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi will reach their destinations quickly and spend more time at the temples.
The expressway will have multiple lanes and controlled access. Modern safety measures will be in place. The road surface will be smooth. Travelers will experience uninterrupted travel without frequent stops or delays.
The project is part of larger improvements to roads in the region. Other ongoing projects include 84 Kosi Parikrama Marg, Ram Janaki Marg, Ayodhya-Sultanpur Marg, Ayodhya-Jagdishpur Marg, and Ram Van Gaman Marg. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is also building overbridges and underpasses along the Lucknow Highway. The Ayodhya bypass is being upgraded at a cost of 55 crore rupees.
The new expressway will make travel more convenient for daily commuters, tourists, and pilgrims. People traveling for work or religious purposes will save three hours on this route. The road will improve safety and reduce fatigue for drivers.
Travellers can organize their journey between Ayodhya and Varanasi in a more flexible manner. The expressway will enhance connectivity between major cities, offer support to local businesses, and facilitate smoother travel for commuters. When completed, there will be a safe, fast and a reliable mode of transportation between the two cities.
