Shorter Distance: The expressway will reduce the distance between Bangalore and Chennai by about 50 km compared to the current NH-75.

Chennai Expressway Status (2024 Update)

The Bangalore–Chennai Expressway is getting developed under the Bharatmala Pariyojana scheme. Here's the most recent development:

• Land Acquisition: Nearly 95% completed (as of mid-2024).
• Construction Progress: Parts of the stretch in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh are under active construction.
• Expected Completion: The highway shall become fully functional in 2026.
